Job Description
Responsible for explaining the procedure to the patient and to ensure that the patient is comfortable. Responsible for starting the procedures, maintaining and terminating the procedure on the patient. Responsible to keep the dialyser and delivery system ready before the start of the procedure. Responsible for the correct arranging the reusing of dialyser and tubing in proper order and sterilizing them with formalin Responsible to obtain the patient weight, monitor and record vital signs before and during the procedure. Responsible to assess patient for any complication that may occur during the procedure and be ready to deal with the emergencies. Responsible for administering injections for the pre and post dialysis patients as per the doctor s advice. Responsible to raise dialysis bills and for other items used in the haemodialysis unit. Responsible to ensure that the area where the procedure has to be conducted is sterile. Responsible for assisting doctors in surgical procedures like introducing subclavion, femoral and jugular catheter. Responsible for sending the samples to the laboratory. Responsible for raising requisition for dialysis patients and collection of lab reports. Responsible for reporting the daily activities of the department to the HOD for the smooth functioning of the department. Responsible for the effective quality control of water used for dialysis. Responsible for the documentation in the department. Responsible for preparing, maintaining and follow up of dialysis files. Responsible for preparing and receiving necessary consent forms from the dialysis patients and also from those undergoing transplant surgeries. Responsible for assisting doctors in the admission of patients and shifting patients from the department to the ward. Responsible for preparing activity charts of the inpatients and for sending it to the billing department. Responsible for coordinating with anesthetist for pre-transplant investigations. Responsible for coordinating with doctors and patients during the cadaver transplantation. Responsible for servicing the water treatment plant. Responsible for checking the water level. Responsible for regenerating De-ionized water and reverse osmosis water tank. Responsible for the cleanliness of the department. In case of break down to coordinate with the biomedical department and maintenance department.
