Data & Analytics provides analytics, data insight services and solutions critical to the mission of AstraZeneca. D&A is organized into teams specializing in: Information Architecture, Data Engineering, BI Engineering, Knowledge Management, Data Science, Data Analysis and Information Governance.
We are recruiting for engineers to be based across our global sites. As an engineer you will support solution development, provide technical leadership, and take responsibility for delivery. You are a T-shaped engineer, a person with a broad range of knowledge and experience across data & analytics, with significant depth in at least one technical area.
In this role, you will coordinate with customers and Business Analysts to determine business data reporting and analysis requirements. Support to build data solutions for business intelligence, reporting and data science/analytics. Implement business intelligence solutions to achieve data reporting and analysis goals. Coordinate with the business units to identify new data requirements, analysis strategies and reporting mechanisms.
The Engineer for BI Engineering Services will be responsible for leading the design, development, implementation, utilization and support of AstraZeneca data platforms (applications & supporting infrastructure). This involves establishing strong working relationships with third party suppliers and supporting the planning, analysis, design, development, testing and implementation (including utilization) of platforms. The role will also drive recommendations on enhancements, monitoring and controlling the performance of solutions and ongoing support/ maintenance to deployed solutions, and will be specialized in specific areas of solutions engineering.
Areas of specialization will include:
- Business Intelligence
- Data analysis, data modelling and design of KPI/Measures/Metrics
- Development of data models in a performance optimized manner
- Data Integration
- ETL and ELT concepts, principles and implementations
- Real time replication
- Data Virtualization concepts, principles and implementations
- Data Management
- Data Quality with Data Profiling
- Meta Data Management
- Data Archival
- Applicable tools: -
- HANA Studio, WEB IDE, SDI, SDA, SLT, DLM
- Qlikview/Qliksense, PowerBI, Cloud Analytics
- Oracle, SQL Server
- Exposure in transporting HANA objects
- Good knowledge of SQL scripts
- Creation of HANA security models for administrators to maintain AstraZeneca's environments.
- Supports operational and engineering aspects of Data Services support
Candidate Focus & Challenge
- Supports design, development and upkeep of analytical assets in Data/BI
- Provide strategic and innovative technology solutions aligned with AstraZeneca business needs as well as regulatory requirements
- Helps in risks identification in the projects/programs
- Ensures project life cycle maintenance needs are identified and managed
- Works with Architects to define business solutions, ensuring their alignment with business strategies as expected target benefits
- Supports Incident and problem management
- Primary ownership in documenting and resolving all problem tickets as applicable
Participate in all operational activities/ administration activities including on-call rotation as required
Candidate Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- 24*7 operational production support experience supporting multiple time zones/geographical regions
Ability to work together in a global team with minimal guidance and support
