Job Description

CLOUD ADMIN : Core Responsibilities Cloud Resource Provisioning & Management

Execute provisioning and decommissioning activities for cloud resources (compute, storage, network, security groups) as per approved service requests or automation triggers, ensuring adherence to approved configurations and naming conventions.
Maintain accurate tagging and metadata for all provisioned resources to enable visibility, policy enforcement, and proper cost attribution across business units or projects.
Implement and maintain resource policies, such as auto-shutdown schedules, retention rules, and rightsizing recommendations, to ensure optimal usage and compliance with organizational guardrails.

Operational Maintenance & Monitoring

Monitor the health and completion of backup jobs, including VM snapshots, database dumps, and object storage versioning, escalating failures to relevant teams or L3 support.
Apply and track lifecycle rules for storage buckets, archives, and temporary data to avoid unnecessary storage cost accumulation.
Perform routine cloud maintenance tasks, including patch scheduling, instance resizing, log file rotation and cleanup, and temporary volume management, as per defined maintenance windows and SOPs.

Deliverables Provisioning & Lifecycle Records

Cloud provisioning logs, including timestamps, resource details, request origin, and tagging validation for all resources created or modified.
Backup job summaries, highlighting success/failure status, size, timestamp, and target recovery point, with retention validation.
Resource deallocation and cost recovery reports, listing terminated resources, associated cost savings, and confirmation of associated tag/policy cleanup.
