Manager, International Business


We are seeking an ambitious and strategic-minded Manager to join our team in Mumbai. This is a unique opportunity to support the development of an innovative business vertical within Torrent's international division, with a primary focus on the high-growth US market. You will be instrumental in shaping our future by identifying and executing both organic and inorganic growth strategies for innovative drugs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Opportunity Identification: Systematically identify and prioritize innovative drug opportunities in the US market using subscription-based data (IQVIA, Evaluate, Cortellis, etc.) and market research.
  • Comprehensive Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth assessments of therapy areas, including evaluating scientific and clinical proof-of-concept, identifying unmet needs, and mapping the competitive landscape.
  • US Market Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of the US market's regulatory pathways, payer dynamics, distribution channels, and commercial models for innovative drugs.
  • Business Plan Development: Build robust business plans for prioritized opportunities, including detailed financial models (rNPV and P&L projections) and sensitivity analyses to secure senior leadership endorsement.
  • M&A Support: Actively support due diligence for potential acquisitions, working closely with senior leadership and external consultants.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Analytical Acumen: Proven ability to critically analyse large datasets and translate complex information into actionable, time-sensitive insights.
  • Scientific and Commercial Assessment: Experience independently conducting scientific, clinical, and commercial assessments of biotech assets and companies. Comfortable developing a scientific understanding of innovative drug classes, including biologics and targeted therapies.
  • Financial Modelling: Proficiency in building accurate and well-validated forecast projections and financial models.
  • US Market Knowledge: Baseline understanding of US drug approval pathways, reimbursement, commercial models, and channel strategies.
  • Collaboration and Presentation: Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and present key findings clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint is a must. Well-versed with key Excel functions (XLookup, Index Match, PivotTables, Data Validation, Statistical Functions, Logical Functions, NPV, IRR, etc.).

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in management consulting (healthcare), biologics portfolio/strategy at a pharmaceutical company, or direct exposure to M&A deals in the pharma sector.
  • Experience supporting the commercialization of 505(b)(2) drugs, biosimilars, or other innovative drug products.

Education:

  • MBA from top-tier university and bachelors degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, etc.).
