Design Engineer - Firefighting/ Firefighting Design Manager @ Tata Projects

Job Description

Role & responsibilities

• esign complete firefighting systems, including hydrants, sprinklers, foam systems, and gas-based suppression.
• Conduct hydraulic calculations, pump sizing, pressure drop analysis, and pipe sizing.
• Prepare fire protection drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, and BOQs.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA, NBC, IS Codes, FM Global, and other applicable standards.
• Coordinate with MEP, architectural, and structural teams to ensure system integration.
• Review consultant/contractor deliverables and provide detailed technical input.
• Attend site visits for inspections, audits, installation reviews, and commissioning support.
• Support preparation of fire safety documentation for statutory approvals.

Preferred candidate profile

• 812 years of experience in firefighting system design for high-end projects, including:
• 5-star / 7-star hotels
• Hospitals
• High-end pharma manufacturing facilities
• Large industrial or commercial buildings
• Experience with Data Centre fire suppression design will be preferred.
• Strong command of NFPA standards and local fire safety norms.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and hydraulic calculation tools.
• Excellent documentation and coordination skills.
