Job Description
Educational qualification: Bachelors degree in mechanical/production engineering with 5+years of experience or Diploma in Mechanical/Production/Tool & Die making with 8+Years of experience
Primary Responsibilities:
- Should have good knowledge in Manufacturability practices specific to industrial hardware parts.
- Sound Knowledge on assembly, Sub assembly and child part process.
- Good knowledge in cutting parameters for various materials
- Capable of calculating the sheet metal and fabrication process calculations.
- Cost calculations for reference/target cost and supplier negotiations for new components.
- Cost mapping for engineering parts and assemblies should be able to define the most suitable manufacturing process, machine selection, cycle time calculations
- Responsible for internal prioritizing, task planning, coordination and execution day to day tasks
- Interact with suppliers, OEM manufacturer to carry out day to day tasks
- Propose feature enhancements of the current process
- Analyse the Cost provided by supplier and recommend ways to reduce the cost
Mandatory Skills:
- Should have parts manufacturing & shop floor experience (Sheet Metal parts, Fabrication, Casting, forging and assemblies)
- Should have strong exposure to pre and post parts fabrication process (Sand/Shot Blasting, Heat treatment, Coatings etc.)
- Should have knowledge on estimating the cost of Sheet Metal parts.
- Should have knowledge on different welding processes
- Should have knowledge about different machines, MHRs, SG&A.
- Should have knowledge in dealing with Limit, Fit and Tolerances, GD&T, Metrology
- Should know MS office tools (Excel)
- Good communication skills and analytical skills.
- Working exposure on different sheet metal manufacturing processes such as Stamping, Bending, Punching, Welding etc.
Desirable Skills:
- Exposure to Costing techniques
- Exposure to Complex Bill of Material Management (BoM)
- Exposure to SCM/Procurement
- Knowledge of MS Office
Additional Skills:
- Exposure to Costing softwares such aPriori, Costimator, TCPCM etc.
- Exposure to Product Benchmarking and Teardown.
- Exposure to VAVE activities.
