Job Description

Location: Mumbai/ Pune/ Noida/ Bangalore/ Kochi

Job Summary:

The SQL developer senior is a highly experienced SQL programmer who can design and implement complex database structures, write optimized SQL queries, and lead projects related to databases.

Job Description:

- 10-12 years of experience in database administration and SQL/PL development

- Strong experience with PostgreSQL database administration

- Experience working in cloud-based database environments (AWS preferred)

Core Responsibilities

- Manage and administer PostgreSQL databases in development, testing, and production environments

- Design and develop SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and database scripts

- Support application teams in database design, performance tuning, and query optimization

- Ensure database availability, reliability, backup, and recovery

- Monitor database performance and resolve performance bottlenecks

- Implement database security, access control, and data protection policies

- Work closely with development teams to support data pipelines and application integrations

Technical Skills

- Strong expertise in PostgreSQL administration

- Experience writing advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions

- Experience in database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization

- Knowledge of data modeling and database schema design

- Experience with database migration, upgrade, and patch management

- Experience handling large datasets and high transaction workloads

Cloud & DevOps Exposure

- Experience working with AWS database services (RDS PostgreSQL / Aurora PostgreSQL preferred)

- Exposure to cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and database scaling

- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes based deployments

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and database deployment automation

- Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana

Operational Responsibilities

- Manage database backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies

- Monitor database health and ensure high availability and replication

- Troubleshoot database incidents and production issues

- Support data migration and environment setup

- Maintain database documentation and operational procedures
