Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) @ Careernet

Job Description

Key Skills: Selenium, API Testing, Java, AWS, Microservices, Test Automation, Automation Frameworks

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design and implement robust automated test frameworks for complex, event-driven distributed systems.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance integration, performance, and reliability tests for microservices-based architectures.
• Ensure comprehensive test coverage across gRPC APIs, Kafka eventing, and data stores such as DocumentDB, OpenSearch, SpiceDB, and AWS Neptune.
• Build and execute automated tests for services developed using Go, GraphQL, and microservices technologies.
• Follow disciplined engineering practices including small, meaningful commits, clear commit messages, and high-quality pull requests with system-level impact awareness.
• Drive adoption of the testing pyramid by implementing unit tests (Go, Ginkgo), integration tests, and performance tests (K6).
• Collaborate closely with development teams to embed quality and testing practices early in the software development lifecycle.
• Analyse test results, identify defects and performance bottlenecks, and recommend improvements to enhance system reliability and scalability.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated tests for continuous quality validation.
• Support continuous improvement of testing tools, frameworks, and quality processes across teams.

Experience Required:

• 7 - 10 years of experience in software testing and test automation, with a strong focus on distributed systems and microservices.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Selenium, API testing, and Java-based automation frameworks.
• Strong experience testing cloud-native applications deployed on AWS.
• Proven expertise in building and scaling test automation frameworks from scratch or enhancing existing ones.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing practices.
• Solid understanding of system design, event-driven architectures, and microservices testing strategies.
