Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Create 3D CAD models aligned with defined functional requirements.
- Develop optimized designs focusing on simplicity, manufacturability, and cost reduction.
- Design fabricated structural weldments, including bolted assemblies.
- Perform component selection, including bearings and motors, supported by necessary calculations.
- Conduct basic engineering calculations such as beam bending and stress analysis.
- Apply relevant material and safety standards in design.
- Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings, including weld sizing and specifications.
- Generate and manage BOM and ECN for release of drawings to production.
- Validate designs using principles of strength of materials and engineering mechanics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for design reviews and improvements.
Required Skills:
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (minimum 4 years of experience).
- Experience in AutoCAD for drafting.
- Hands-on experience with Teamcenter.
- Solid understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering calculations.
- Experience in designing for heavy machinery, mining, or construction equipment industries is preferred.
- Knowledge of material standards and safety requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
