Role & responsibilities
Civil Engineering Expertise: A strong background in civil engineering is essential for designing the MMS, MMS foundations, support structures, MCR Design, ICR Design and other civil components of solar projects. This includes knowledge of structural analysis, geotechnical engineering, and construction materials.
Solar Energy Knowledge: Understanding the principles of solar energy and photovoltaic (PV) systems is crucial for designing efficient solar installations.
Structural Design: Proficiency in structural design principles and software tools like Civil 3D, STAAD is necessary for designing the support structures for solar panels, such as mounting racks and frames. This involves ensuring structural integrity, load-bearing capacity, and compliance with relevant codes and standards.
AutoCAD and BIM Skills: Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software like AutoCAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools is essential for creating detailed design drawings and models of solar installations.
Project Management: Strong project management skills are required to coordinate the design process, manage budgets and timelines, and communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
Problem-Solving Abilities: The ability to identify and solve technical challenges related to site conditions, structural requirements, and environmental factors is essential for success in this role.
Communication Skills: Effective communication skills are essential for conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders, facilitating collaboration among team members, and resolving conflicts or issues as they arise.
Continuous Learning: Given the rapidly evolving nature of solar technology and design standards, a willingness to stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies is crucial for long-term success in this role.
Role & Responsibilities: - Lead and provide support as appropriate with conceptual and detailed design of solar civil and structural components. Design review of civil and structural plans, specifications, calculations, and studies. Support structural design activities as needed. Emphasis on civil/structural items pile design, corrosion analysis, geotechnical investigations, construction material testing, and racking design. Independent review of testing, commissioning plan, and QA/QC documentation. Conduct site visits and inspection as necessary. Performs quantity take-offs. Assists in the pricing and bidding of renewable and conventional generation construction projects. Communicates with engineers, suppliers and consultants to clarify scope of work, materials, and schedule requirements, and documents these clarifications. Conducts reviews of milestone documents for the development and pricing of value alternative opportunities. Actively participates in the internal estimate review process. After the bid, collects and organizes all bid information for future reference. Aids field operations with change order pricing if needed. Directs, coordinates and provides information and documents to subcontractors and vendors. Participates in estimate and budgeting activities by soliciting subcontractor and vendor support and evaluating bids. Participates in site walks and client-facing meetings as required. Manage the team of structure engineers. Using Staad Pro, Solid Works, civil 3D and other civil engineering software for developing detailed designs as per Indian and American Codes. Preparing detailed drawings (including architectural, fabrication, and construction), design calculations and Bill of quantities for development of solar power project.
1. Civil Design of projects within stipulated time line
2. Technical knowledge on civil RCC and Steel design & engineering works.
3. Capital goods/equipment's foundation sizing & calculation.
4. Knowledge on civil design software like STAAD- Pro, ETABS, MS-Excel etc.
5. Design knowledge in building of RCC & PCC, module mounting, structure design analysis, road, drain, plumbing, switchyard structure design, and plant layout.
6. Design & calculation of LT /HT switchyard structure.
7. Detailed civil & structural IS /BS codes/IEC stand.
8. Read the bidding documents, finishing the key design information extraction.
9. Design drawing, which include foundation design and calculation, general layout design, roads arrangement, flood and drainage system design, civil bidding documents preparation and finish bill of quantities.
10. Cooperate with budget staff to communicate with overseas subcontractors and complete cost price measurement.
11. Return the feedback of clarification timely, make sure the designs satisfy the owners' requirements.
12. Negotiate contract with employer.
13. Familiar international standards, Finish design based on these standards.
14. Fluent English skill and can be used to communicate and negotiate with collages.
Preferred candidate profile
Having the experience of designing substation and calculation is preferred.
