Job Description
Preferred candidate profile:
Skill: Linux Admin + Red hat Satellite
Location: Bangalore, Coimbatore & Hyderabad
Experience: 1.8 to 4.8 years L1 & L2 Support
Shift: 24/7 Rotational shift
Role & responsibilities
Linux Engineer L1 (Support / Operations) (0- 3 Years)
Responsibilities
- Monitor Linux servers and respond to alerts.
- Handle basic incident tickets, service requests, and monitoring alarms.
- Perform routine activities:
- User & group management
- File system checks
- Disk space monitoring
- Service restarts
- Execute predefined SOPs and runbooks.
- Perform basic troubleshooting for:
- Login issues
- CPU/memory/disk alerts
- Process or service failures
- Escalate unresolved issues to L2/L3.
- Document resolutions and update knowledge base.
Skills
- Basic knowledge of Linux OS (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
- Familiarity with:
- Linux commands
- System logs
- systemd services
- Understanding of ITIL concepts.
- Willingness to work in 247 shifts.
Linux Engineer L2 (System Administration) (3 5 Years)
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced production support for Linux systems.
- Independently resolve incidents and standard changes.
- Perform system administration tasks:
- Patch management
- OS upgrades
- User access audits
- Troubleshoot OSlevel issues:
- Performance bottlenecks
- Disk, memory, CPU issues
- Boot/startup problems
- Manage storage and filesystems:
- LVM
- ext4 / XFS
- Support middleware components (Apache, Nginx, Tomcat basic).
- Apply basic security hardening.
- Coordinate with application, DB, and cloud teams.
- Participate in oncall rotations.
Skills
- Strong handson experience with Linux administration.
- Knowledge of:
- Networking (DNS, NTP, TCP/IP)
- SSH, permissions, cron jobs
- Experience with monitoring tools:
- Nagios, Zabbix, Grafana, Splunk (any)
- Basic scripting (Shell).
- Virtualization exposure (VMware/KVM).
