Position Summary... What youll do...About Team:
Our team collaborates with Massmart Product team to understand existing issues in Business and develops scalable tech solutions for them.
Massmart is a Walmart market existing in South Africa (SA) with multiples banners like Makro, Game, Builders, with around 300 stores across SA.
What you ll do :
- In the current role you will be responsible to work on Point of Sales system in Makro.
- This is a legacy system which needs to be modernized with latest tech, scale and availability of this system will be high as its a Tier 0 system in retail world.
What youll bring:
- 5 to 8 years of total experience of which 5+ years in Backend engineering platform development.
- 5+ years of experience in Java technologies, Distributed systems and large-scale application development and design.
- Hands on experience Kafka, Cassandra.
- Experience with a containerization technology and Microservice
- Well versed in CI/CD
- Work with Java, Multithreading, Data Structures, Algorithm, Design Patterns and develop robust high- performance and scalable applications.
- Extremely strong technical background with the capability of being hands-on and ability to mentor top individual technical talent.
