Turning & Turnmill Setter @ Hire Hubb

Job Description

• Machine Setup & Operation
  
• Set up CNC turning and turn-mill machines, including tooling, fixtures, and workpieces.
• Operate machines to produce components as per drawings and process sheets.
• Adjust machine parameters to achieve dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
• Programming & Process Control
  
• Interpret engineering drawings and CNC programs.
• Make minor program edits and optimize machining cycles for efficiency.
• Ensure correct selection of cutting tools and speeds/feeds.
• Quality Assurance
  
• Inspect finished parts using measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMM).
• Maintain strict adherence to tolerances and quality standards.
• Document inspection results and maintain production records.
• Maintenance & Safety
  
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines.
• Report any mechanical issues or tool wear promptly.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma/ITI in Mechanical Engineering or relevant trade.
• 35 years of experience in CNC turning and turn-mill operations.
• Strong knowledge of G-code programming and CNC controls (Fanuc, Siemens, or similar).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments.
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work in shifts if required.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience in machining complex components for automotive, aerospace, or precision engineering industries.
• Knowledge of tooling selection and optimization.
• Team player with good communication skills.
