Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Total 4+ years of overall experience
- 12 years of experience in Cloud Support, Billing Operations, FinOps, or Financial Analysis
- Strong understanding of core GCP services from a billing and cost perspective
- Mastery of GCP pricing models, including:
- Usage-based pricing
- Committed Use Discounts (CUDs)
- Sustained Use Discounts (SUDs)
- Regional pricing impacts
- Ability to correlate technical usage drivers to financial outcomes
- Experience analyzing:
- Invoices
- Usage reports
- Credits and adjustments
- Proficiency with billing tools and cost management dashboards
- Strong SQL skills for analyzing BigQuery billing exports
- Clear understanding of:
- IAM
- Project hierarchy
- Governance considerations impacting billing
- Strong documentation skills with audit-ready discipline
- Bachelors in IT with finance/economics understanding
- Certifications:
- Google Cloud Digital Leader
- Associate Cloud Engineer
- CEFR B2 Communication Proficiency
Own end-to-end GCP billing and cost investigations
Perform deep analysis of billing variances, spikes, and anomalies
Interpret and validate invoices, credits, adjustments, and usage reports
Map technical usage patterns (service consumption) to financial impact
Use BigQuery billing exports and SQL queries to:
- Break down spend
- Identify top cost drivers
- Explain cost movements
Work with stakeholders to resolve:
- Billing disputes
- Incorrect charge allocations
- Credit/adjustment discrepancies
Apply understanding of IAM, project hierarchy, and governance to support accurate cost attribution
Maintain clear, structured, and audit-ready documentation of investigations and decisions
Follow defined operating procedures and meet expected SLAs/SLOs for investigation turnaround
