Job Description

Role Profile

This role is responsible for supporting the design and development ofPropulsion systems and capabilities in the system engineering core system atthe logical and physical solution domain. You will support the team on thebuilding of generic system artifacts for new and existing Powertrain propulsionconcepts, capabilities and features in the BEV space contributing on theactivities to achieve legal compliance, meets customer attributes expectationsand are competitive in the market.Some of these artifacts are (but not limitedto) customer requirements mapping , feature/capability definition, Use caseanalysis, Logical architecture diagram, FFA/FMEA , generic functionalrequirements cascade, test case mapping, target generation and issue resolutionfor Powerpacks.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Support the integration team on the design of PT propulsion systems, control Strategy/SFW concepts.
  • Support on robust requirements creation, cascade to commodities ( EDUs/Battery/EDS/BMS/Cooling etc ) and targets delivered on-cycle to programmes.
  • Help develop System artifacts ( use case analysis, LAD, FFA/DFMEA/DRBFM, DVP, requirements, standards) developed off-cycle and updated on-cycle as required.
  • Support development of new functions delivered by statement of capability (SOC) and Feature statement of intent (FSOI) process.
  • Contribute in the System compatibility Issues identification, and support on the solutions.
  • Collaborate on the development of specified engineering methods, computer tools and aids applied.
  • Support the analysis of complex data from CAE and physical test properties.
  • Participate in technical reviews/forums and resolve complex cross functional issues.
  • Contribute on the development of Standards, methods, and best practices, supporting technical studies into future technologies.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering environment - ideally within the Automotive Sector
  • Comphrenhend Propulsion/Powertrain Engineering in: EDU-Inverters, HV Systems/Bateries-Charging, Torque and Energy Arbitration on BEV/ xHEV propulsion system integration.
  • Knowledge on system architecture, requirements specification, systems integration.
  • Knowledge on Systems Engineering and how to solve complex technical issues using a structured approach
  • Understanding of modern electrified propulsion system as MHEV, PHEV and BEV.
  • Understanding of calibration and controls of propulsion systems
  • Knowledge in model base system engineering and/or any tool for Systems Architectecting.
  • Understanding of different CAE on vehicle, propulsion and sub-systems.
  • Knowledge on applied Test cases and DoE for HIL, PIL, VIL and vehicle environment.
  • Capable of data analytics from CAE and physical Testing, mathematical projection, estimation, walk generation. (complex excel macro/database, Matlab, MDA, Concerto).
  • Understanding of 8D issue resolution and data statistics 6 sigma methods.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
