Job Description


Job Title: Lead - Branding and Communications

Immediate manager: Center Director Sodexo GBS India

Position location: Mumbai, India.


1. Purpose of the Job

Ensuring the standard and alignment of Sodexo's image and brand strategies by shaping, executing, and sustaining a strong, consistent, and engaging strategic communication initiatives at Sodexo Global Business Services India. This includes managing internal communication strategies for key initiatives and employer branding, promoting employee engagement, external visibility and developing communication materials such as newsletters, intranet updates and webinars while ensuring alignment with global brand guidelines. This role will be a strategic enabler for GBS Indias growth by:

Creating a strong internal identity and sense of belonging.

Positioning GBS India as an employer of choice in the market.

Ensuring employees are informed, engaged, and connected to the organizations purpose.


2. Context and main issues

This is a new role. S/he is expected to build a strategy for communications and employer branding on behalf of Sodexo GBS India. GBS India is a fast growing organization and such a fast growth can lead to a communication breakdown which needs to be managed effectively. The position will play a key role in simplifying communication, improving message clarity, and building a distinct GBS India employer brand internally and externally.

3. Key Responsibilities & Assignments -

Internal Communications

Design and execute a comprehensive internal communication strategy for GBS India.

Own and manage communication across channels such as Newsletters, & leadership communications

Intranet / SharePoint / Viva Engage (or equivalent tools).

Translate business, people, and transformation updates into clear, engaging, and consistent messaging.

Understand communication styles across teams and leadership levels and streamline messaging for effectiveness.

Partner with HR and Leadership to support change initiatives, culture-building programs, employee engagement and recognition activities.

Coordinate internal communication events and branding initiatives, such as workshops, webinars, talks, and corporate gatherings, to strengthen organizational culture and engagement.


Employer Branding & EVP

Drive the Employer Branding strategy for GBS India in alignment with global frameworks.

Articulate and promote the Employee Value Proposition (EVP) through storytelling and people-centric content.

Assist in developing and communicating the Employee Value Proposition by promoting benefits and recognition programs that increase employee engagement and satisfaction.

Support talent attraction initiatives through strong narratives around career growth, culture, learning and opportunities in GBS India.


External Communications & LinkedIn

Own and maximize LinkedIn presence for GBS India as a key external platform or any other.

Create impactful content calendars, campaigns, and storytelling on LinkedIn.

Collaborate closely with TA, HR, and leadership for hiring campaigns, employee advocacy and leadership visibility.

Ensure consistency of brand tone and messaging across all external communication touchpoints.


Content Creation & Campaign Management

Develop high-quality content including articles, posts, newsletters, presentations, employer branding campaigns and leadership communication material.

Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines while being locally relevant.

Plan and execute communication campaigns (internal & external) end-to-end.


Measurement & Continuous Improvement

Define and track communication effectiveness using engagement metrics, employee feedback, platform analytics (especially LinkedIn).

Continuously evolve communication practices based on insights and feedback.

4. Accountabilities

Increased Brand Awareness and Consistency: Ensure the GBS brand is consistently represented across all internal and external communications, aligning with headquarters' standards and increasing brand recognition within the organization. Enhanced employer brand visibility.

Enhanced Employee Engagement and Satisfaction: Drive employee engagement through effective communication strategies, employer branding, and recognition programs, contributing to a stronger organizational culture and higher employee satisfaction.

Effective Dissemination of Strategic Information: Provide timely and accurate updates on key projects and initiatives, across platforms (SharePoint, Yammer, etc.), ensuring that all employees are informed and aligned with the organization's goals. Clear, aligned leadership and business communication across teams.

Compliance with Regulatory and Brand Guidelines: Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and brand guidelines in all communications, safeguarding the organization's reputation and adhering to quality benchmarks. High-quality, on-brand communication outputs aligned with global standards.

Measurable Improvement in Communication Effectiveness: Monitor and assess communication impact through engagement metrics and feedback, continuously improving strategies to maximize the clarity, reach, and effectiveness of internal and external messaging.

5. Experience & Qualifications -

Dynamic and results-driven Communications and Branding professional with:

710 years of experience in communications, employer branding, or corporate communications.

Proven experience across both internal and external communications.

Strong hands-on experience with LinkedIn as a branding and engagement platform.

Experience developing employer branding and EVP-led content.

Prior experience in Shared Services or corporate communication environment preferred.

Experience in crafting and executing brand strategies that enhance visibility and engagement.

Skilled in storytelling and messaging, with expertise in digital and social media management, content creation, and project leadership.

Proven track record of managing successful campaigns across various platforms, building strong stakeholder relationships.

Adept at balancing creativity with strategic insights, ensuring all communications are aligned with brand identity and market trends.


Technical/ Hard Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English).

Strong writing, editing, and proofreading abilities for professional content creation.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).

Knowledge or interest in digital marketing/communication, branding, and employer branding strategies.

Expertise in internal communication platforms (SharePoint, Viva Engage, intranet tools, etc.) and external communication platforms like social media management (especially LinkedIn, Glassdoor, website).

Behavioral/ Soft Skills:

Positive attitude and proactive approach to tasks and challenges.

Strong desire to assist and collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Eager to develop communication skills, learn new tools, and apply modern methodologies.

Passionate about change management and motivated to join branding or communication communities.

Ability to multitask and perform well under pressure, handling multiple priorities effectively.

Enthusiastic about working in an international and cross-functional environment.

Aligned with company values, demonstrating integrity and respect in all interactions.

Excellent interpersonal skills, with confidence to work closely with senior managers and advice on communication strategies.
