Job Description
We are looking for a seasoned Technical Architect to lead our DataHub initiatives. In this role, you will act as a technical coach and domain expert, driving excellence in software development, data ingestion, and cloud-native architecture. You will be responsible for setting quality goals, mentoring engineering teams, and ensuring the seamless integration of complex data systems within a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Coaching: Act as the technical authority for the domain; mentor engineers and ensure the application of best practices and high coding standards.
- Architecture & Design: Design and extend data lake architectures (partitioning, storage formats, metadata layers) and develop scalable data ingestion/transformation pipelines.
- Performance & Reliability: Analyze and optimize application performance; develop software to log/store usage and error data for continuous monitoring.
- Operational Excellence: Implement automated testing, data validation, and CI/CD pipelines. Diagnose and resolve issues related to schema drifts, latency, and data inconsistencies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Clinical Specialists to ship features that align with user needs in an Agile/SAFe environment.
Required Technical Skills
- Core Engineering: Strong proficiency in C++, HTTP, REST, and Cloud Services.
- Data Expertise: Deep knowledge of Spark, Databricks, Delta Lake, and distributed data processing.
- Domain Knowledge: In-depth understanding of DICOM protocols and imaging data handling.
- Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience with AWS, GitHub/Azure DevOps, and Jenkins CI/CD.
- Design: Expert in OOAD, Design Patterns, Architectural Patterns, and UML.
- Emerging Tech: Proficiency in leveraging AI-assisted development tools for faster, high-quality delivery.
Desired Profile
- 12-15 years of experience in full-lifecycle software engineering.
- Proven track record in building scalable, cloud-native data warehouses.
- Experience with automation frameworks (Cucumber, Selenium, or Junit).
- Ability to identify technical risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Experience in the Medical Device industry or a regulated environment is a significant plus.
