Job Description
Job Title: Junior Accountant (US GAAP)
Location: Remote India (Supporting US Operations)
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Employment Type: [Full-time / Contractor ]
Time Zone Requirement: Must overlap with 9:00am 5pm US Eastern Time (EST)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Junior Accountant based in India to support the accounting and financial operations of our US-based entities. This role requires hands-on experience with US GAAP accounting, strong technical proficiency in accounting systems, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with US-based leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
General Accounting & Bookkeeping:
- Perform day-to-day accounting activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and ledger maintenance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger in accordance with US GAAP
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes
- Ensure proper classification and recording of all financial transactions
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Assist CFO in preparing financial reports
- Prepare variance analyses
- Support budgeting and forecasting
- Generate ad hoc reports
Treasury & Cash Management:
- Prepare cash flow forecasts
- Perform reconciliations
Accounts Payable:
- Process invoices and assist with managing payments
- Assist with vendor queries
Compliance & Audit Support:
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP
- Assist with audits and tax filings as needed
- Maintain organized financial records
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with CFO and team members
- Communicate with stakeholders
- Handle confidential data
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum 3 years corporate accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Experience with QuickBooks
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with US-based companies
- CPA (India) or equivalent is a plus
Work Expectations:
- US time overlap required
- Ability to manage multiple entities
- High attention to detail
