MS SQL DBA + Cloud
24x7 - HYD - 3 days from office
Role Summary
- We are seeking an experienced MS SQL DBA to ensure reliability, performance, scalability, and operational excellence of our multi-cloud DBaaS platform across:
- Microsoft Azure
- Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- This role combines deep database expertise with SRE principles to build highly available, automated, and resilient database platforms. The DBRE Lead will drive operational standards, automation frameworks, and reliability engineering practices across distributed cloud environments.
Key Skills Required
- 810+ years of experience in DBA / Platform Engineering
- Strong experience in multi-cloud environments (minimum two: Azure / AWS / GCP)
- Expertise in high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and performance tuning
- Strong automation mindset using Terraform, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience in SaaS / DBaaS environments is preferred
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Database Administration (DBA) Skills
- Microsoft SQL Server (Primary)
- PostgreSQL, MySQL (Secondary)
- Backup & Recovery strategies
- Performance tuning (query optimization, indexing, troubleshooting)
- Database security (roles, access control, auditing)
- Log Analysis: Reading and analysing database and system logs.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Performing in-depth analysis after major incidents
- Query Performance: Analyzing slow queries, deadlocks, and resource contention.
- Cloud & SRE Skills (DBaaS Environment)
- AWS (RDS, Aurora), Azure (SQL Database, Cosmos DB), GCP (Cloud SQL, Firestore)
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Kubernetes)
- Containerized database environments (Kubernetes)
Observability tools (ELK stack Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
Database migration across cloud platforms
Database scaling strategies (vertical & horizontal scaling)
