Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Java Backend Developer to design and build scalable, high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms, along with hands-on experience in AI-driven development practices and modern DevOps ecosystems. This role requires technical leadership, mentoring capabilities, and a passion for innovation using AI-assisted tools like GitHub Copilot.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of scalable backend systems using Java and Spring Boot
Architect and implement microservices-based solutions with high availability and performance
Drive adoption of AI-assisted development practices to improve productivity and code quality
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, frontend, DevOps, and data engineering
Design and integrate RESTful APIs and event-driven systems (Kafka, messaging queues)
Ensure best practices in code quality, security, performance, and scalability
Mentor and guide junior and mid-level developers
Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical roadmaps
Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
Work with cloud platforms for deployment and scaling of applications
Required Skills
Strong experience in Java (8+), Spring Boot, and backend development
Expertise in microservices architecture and distributed systems
Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (must-have), especially GitHub Copilot
Solid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation
Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration (Kubernetes preferred)
Strong knowledge of REST APIs, system design, and database technologies (SQL/NoSQL)
Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
Proficiency in version control systems (Git)
Strong problem-solving and leadership skills
Good to Have
Experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure
Exposure to AI/ML model integration, LLM APIs, or intelligent automation
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates, etc.)
Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
Familiarity with secure coding practices and compliance standards
Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
