Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Mainframe Professional with a strong background in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, SAS, and REXX. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in mainframe technologies and possess excellent leadership abilities to manage an offshore team. This role demands a professional who can effectively contribute individually, lead an agile team, and handle client communications efficiently
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership:
Lead and manage an offshore team of mainframe developers and analysts.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
Ensure the team adheres to best practices and coding standards.
Client Communication:
Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding project updates, issues, and deliverables.
Conduct regular status meetings and provide clear, concise reports to clients.
Manage client expectations and ensure customer satisfaction.
Individual Contribution:
Develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS.
Good to Have
knowledge of DB2, SAS, REXX
Perform code reviews and debugging to ensure the quality and performance of applications.
Analyze and resolve technical issues promptly.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role: Education Qualification: Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science or related field or higher with minimum 5 years of relevant experience and Relevant certifications in mainframe technologies (preferred).
Must to Have :
Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS, DB2.
Strong understanding of mainframe architecture and development practices.
Experience with batch processing and online transaction processing (OLTP).
Leadership and Management:
Proven experience in leading and managing offshore teams.
Strong project management skills and familiarity with agile methodologies.
Ability to mentor and guide team members effectively.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to handle client communication professionally and effectively.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse teams.
Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Education:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Relevant certifications in mainframe technologies (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience in leading projects in a global delivery model.
Advanced certifications in mainframe technologies or agile methodologies.
Work Environment:
This is completely work from office in client ODC and no remote working available.
This role may require work in flexible hours.
Flexibility to work in different time zones to manage offshore teams and client communications
Good to Have : REX and database knowledge .
