1. Job Description
The SOC L1 Analyst will be the first line of defence in monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents. This role involves analysing security alerts, identifying potential threats, and escalating incidents to higher-level analysts.
2. Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts in SentinelOne and Azure Microsoft Sentinel or any SIEM for potential security incidents.
- Triage and prioritize alerts based on severity and risk.
- Perform initial analysis to determine the validity of alerts and escalate if necessary.
- Work with L2 analysts to investigate and resolve incidents.
- Maintain and update incident response documentation and logs.
- Collaborate with the threat intelligence team to understand emerging threats.
- Use Jira/Manage Engine ITSM to track incident progress and resolutions.
- Participate in incident response activities following the predefined Incident Response Plan.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for alert handling and incident escalation.
3. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 0-1 years of experience in IT support, network administration, or a related field with exposure to security concepts.
- Experience in monitoring and responding to security incidents.
- Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM platforms, especially Azure Microsoft Sentinel or SentinelOne.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a 24x7 shift environment.
4. Certifications
- Comptia Security+ or equivalent foundational certification is preferred.
