Role: Jira Cloud Administrator
Location: Chennai, Bengaluru (3 Days hybrid)
Work timing: IST Hours
Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Jira Cloud Administrator to support enterprise-scale Agile tooling for a global organization. This role is critical to an ongoing migration from Jira Data Center and Rally to Jira Cloud, while also expanding global support coverage outside U.S. hours.
You will work closely with cross-functional Agile teams to configure, optimize, and govern Jira Cloud and Confluence Cloud environments, ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with enterprise Agile standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and configure Jira Cloud (Software & Service Management) and Confluence Cloud across multiple business units
- Support migration efforts from Jira Data Center and Rally to Jira Cloud
- Design and manage workflows, screens, schemes, custom fields, dashboards, and filters
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and engineering teams to align Jira with SAFe practices
- Manage user access, roles, and permissions using Atlassian Access and SSO
- Implement automation rules and integrations (Slack, GitHub, ServiceNow, etc.)
- Provide Tier 2/3 support and troubleshooting for Jira and Confluence users
- Ensure compliance with enterprise governance, security, and audit standards
- Develop documentation, training materials, and best practices
- Participate in system upgrades, testing, and change management
- Support adoption of AI capabilities like Atlassian Rovo
Must-Have Skills (Non-Negotiable)
- Strong expertise in Jira Cloud administration (PRIMARY requirement)
- 3-5+ years of hands-on Jira Admin experience in enterprise environments
- Experience with Jira Cloud configuration: workflows, schemes, permissions, dashboards, JQL
- Solid understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe)
- Experience supporting large user bases (enterprise scale, ideally 5,000+ users)
- Hands-on experience with Atlassian Cloud (Jira + Confluence)
- Ability to work onsite (Chennai or Bengaluru) 3 days/week
- Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder communication skills
Preferred Skills (Good to Have)
- Experience with Rally (important due to migration)
- Atlassian certifications (ACP-120, ACP-620)
- Experience with Jira Service Management (JSM)
- Familiarity with ScriptRunner and Automation for Jira
- Integration experience with tools like Power BI, Tableau
- Knowledge of Atlassian REST APIs or scripting (Python, Groovy, JavaScript)
- Experience in regulated environments (financial services, banking, fintech)
- Exposure to enterprise security and compliance practices
- Familiarity with Atlassian Rovo (nice to have)
