Design, develop, maintain and optimise ETL workflows using Ab Initio tools including GDE, EME, Metadata Hub and the Co>Operating System.
Build, optimise and support robust data ingestion, transformation and extraction pipelines across onpremise and GCP-integrated platforms.
Develop and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts to enable automation, scheduling and monitoring.
Write, optimise and tune complex SQL queries and data models within Teradata environments.
Perform performance tuning, root cause analysis and troubleshooting for ETL jobs and database queries.
Lead the design and implementation of Ab Initio-based solutions integrated with GCP services such as BigQuery, GCS and Dataform.
Provide functional leadership across agile delivery teams, ensuring alignment of technical delivery with business objectives.
Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, operations, infrastructure teams and onshore stakeholders to plan and deliver commitments.
Act as an escalation point for functional and technical issues, driving timely and sustainable resolutions.
Support production environments, including release activities, incident management and continuous improvement initiatives.
Mentor and guide data engineers on Ab Initio best practices, GCP integration patterns and modern data engineering approaches.
Lead and actively participate in SAFe ceremonies including PI Planning, iteration planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
Define and promote best practices around data quality, security, governance, compliance, performance optimisation, cost efficiency and scalability.
Create and maintain clear technical documentation covering designs, workflows and operational procedures.
Who you are
You bring 5-10 years of hands-on experience across Ab Initio, Teradata, GCP and Python.
You demonstrate deep expertise in Ab Initio development (Graphs, EME, Co>Op and Metadata Hub).
You have strong proficiency in Unix/Linux commands and shell scripting.
You possess solid experience with Teradata SQL, utilities and performance tuning.
You have a strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL best practices and large-scale data platform design.
You have working knowledge of GCP services such as BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage, Compute Engine and Dataform.
You have experience supporting production environments with incident and change management responsibilities.
You demonstrate proven delivery experience using Agile and SAFe methodologies and are confident facilitating agile ceremonies.
You communicate clearly, collaborate effectively with global stakeholders and apply structured problem-solving approaches.
ITIL knowledge (preferably v3) and exposure to cloud migration or hybrid data platforms are advantageous.
Familiarity with scheduling tools such as Autosys or ControlM is preferred.
