• VDI Management: Administer and maintain VMware Horizon infrastructure (Connection Servers, UAG, App Volumes, DEM).
• Create and manage desktop pools (persistent and non-persistent).
• Manage golden images and RDSH session hosts for remote apps.
• Infrastructure Operations: Perform patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting of Horizon components, ESXi hosts, vCenter, and vSAN clusters.
• Monitor system performance and capacity; implement proactive measures to ensure uptime.
• User Support Escalation: Serve as Level 3 escalation point for VDI-related issues.
• Collaborate with Service Desk and Tier 2 teams for incident resolution.
• Security Compliance: Apply security hardening guidelines (e.g., DISA STIGs for government environments).
• Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Automation Optimization: Use scripting tools (PowerShell/PowerCLI) for automation of routine tasks.
• Optimize resource utilization and performance tuning of VDI environment.
• Required Skills: Strong knowledge of VMware Horizon (Connection Server, Agent, UAG).
• Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi, vCenter, and vSAN.
• Familiarity with App Volumes, Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM), and profile management tools.
• Good understanding of Active Directory, GPO, VLANs, and network security.
