Senior Python Backend Engineer
Experience: 8+ years
Location: Pune /Bangalore /Gurgaon
About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Python, FastAPI, and MongoDB. The ideal candidate is strong in debugging, core backend problemsolving, architecting scalable systems, and leveraging AI-driven approaches to enhance development and design workflows.
You will play a key role in designing backend infrastructure, building robust APIs, improving system performance, and mentoring teams through technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Backend Development Architecture
- Design, build, and maintain highperformance backend services using Python and FastAPI.
- Architect scalable, secure, and maintainable backend systems and microservices.
- Develop RESTful APIs and ensure seamless integration with frontend and thirdparty services.
- Lead the design of end-to-end system architecture, including infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
Database Storage
- Work extensively with MongoDB including schema design, indexing, aggregation pipelines, and performance tuning.
- Optimize queries and data models for scalable, highthroughput applications.
Debugging Problem Solving
- Debug complex production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver robust fixes.
- Identify systemic issues and propose long-term solutions.
- Create detailed use cases, troubleshoot technical debt, and improve existing codebases.
AI Productivity Enhancement
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate development workflows (e.g., debugging, architecture suggestions, documentation).
- Explore opportunities to integrate AI into backend systems and automation tasks.
Infra DevOps Collaboration
- Contribute to infrastructure planning: cloud services, containerization ,CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with DevOps to ensure smooth deployment and monitoring.
Collaboration Leadership
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (product, design, QA).
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python and frameworks such as FastAPI (mandatory).
- Handson experience with MongoDB (mandatory).
- Excellent debugging, codeanalysis, and problemsolving skills.
- Strong understanding of backend design patterns, multithreading, concurrency, and API security.
- Experience designing scalable infrastructure.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, CI/CD (preferred).
- Ability to create clear technical documentation and use-case diagrams.
- Ability to leverage AI tools to improve development efficiency.
