Job Description
Role & responsibilities
Data Mapping & Classification (Primary Responsibility)
- Review invoice line items from hospital practice management systems and ensure they are accurately categorized within our centralized reporting structure.
- Map products and services into the appropriate revenue subcategories to support standardized financial reporting.
- Manage a daily volume of approximately 250-600 items, with higher volumes expected during system transitions or migrations.
- Prioritize standardized items (e.g., pharmaceuticals, diets, laboratory services) and progressively expand coverage to additional service categories over time.
Vendor Invoice Mapping
- Review vendor invoice line items and categorize them appropriately to ensure expenses align with corresponding revenue groupings.
- Utilize purchasing platform tools (e.g., Vetcove) and internal mapping resources to accurately classify items.
- Monitor and address new or unmapped vendor items on a regular basis, ensuring timely updates to the centralized structure.
Laboratory Code Alignment
- Review laboratory codes and align them with the correct reference lab tests.
- Ensure new or miscellaneous tests are appropriately added and classified within the system.
- Support ongoing refinement of lab code mappings to maintain reporting accuracy.
Code File Tagging & Compliance Support
- Apply standardized vendor or compliance-related tags to invoice line items using the approved tagging framework.
- Perform tagging updates on a regular cadence (1-2 times per week) to maintain data consistency.
Overall Objective
Ensure accurate and timely classification of revenue and expense data into our centralized structure, enabling reliable reporting, financial transparency, and operational insight across all hospitals.
Preferred candidate profile
- Frequent work at a computer for 90-100% of the time.
- Monday through Friday, 11am MST to 3:00 MST
- Frequent to moderate noise levels in the work environment.
- Frequent ability to carry our instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form to solve problems involving several variables.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch as well as manipulate (life, carry and move) up to 15 pounds.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Veterinary experience or knowledge of pharmaceuticals, veterinary preventive products and therapeutic diets preferred, to ensure accurate mapping.
- Self-driven - able to work independently.
- Has the ability to prioritize and work effectively in a fast-paced environment that is subject to changing priorities and short deadlines.
- High level of professional integrity and discretion.
- Proficiency in Appsmith, Microsoft Office Suite (PowerBI, Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, SharePoint and Work).
