Job Title: Senior Embedded Software Test Engineer (C/C++ & VectorCAST)
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Embedded Software Test Engineer with strong expertise in C/C++ programming and hands-on experience with VectorCAST. In this role, you will be responsible for validating safety-critical embedded systems, performing unit and integration testing, and ensuring software code compliance with international safety standards. You will collaborate closely with software development and QA teams to deliver robust, high-quality firmware solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Unit & Integration Testing: Design, develop, and execute automated unit and integration test scripts using VectorCAST/C++ and VectorCAST/QA.
- Code Coverage Analysis: Perform comprehensive code coverage analysis (Statement, Branch, MC/DC coverage) to ensure strict adherence to quality metrics.
- Test Case Design: Analyze software requirements to create detailed test plans, test specifications, and boundary-value test cases.
- Debugging & Defect Tracking: Identify, log, and isolate software defects in C/C++ source code and work closely with developers to verify fixes.
- Standards Compliance: Ensure testing practices comply with industry-specific standards such as ISO 26262 (Automotive), DO-178B/C (Aerospace), or IEC 62304 (Medical).
- CI/CD Integration: Integrate VectorCAST automated testing suites into Continuous Integration (CI/CD) pipelines (e.g., Jenkins).
- Static Analysis: Utilize static analysis tools to verify code quality, coding guidelines (MISRA C/C++), and runtime error checks.
Required Technical Skills
- Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in C and C++ with a solid understanding of embedded systems architecture.
- Testing Tools: Hands-on mastery of VectorCAST (VectorCAST/C++, VectorCAST/Cover, VectorCAST/Manage).
- Hardware & Protocols: Familiarity with microcontrollers, emulators, debuggers, and communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, UART).
- Scripting Languages: Experience with Python or Perl for writing custom test automation scripts is a strong plus.
- Configuration Management: Proficiency with Git, SVN, or similar version control tools.
