Job Description

Role Overview

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures while ensuring patient safety, radiation safety compliance, and high-quality imaging standards. The role involves operating specialized imaging equipment, preparing radiopharmaceuticals, and supporting consultants in delivering accurate and efficient patient care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures such as PET-CT, SPECT, Gamma Camera, and other diagnostic scans as per clinical protocols.
  • Prepare, handle, and administer radiopharmaceuticals in compliance with radiation safety guidelines and medical protocols.
  • Ensure proper patient preparation, positioning, and monitoring before, during, and after procedures.
  • Operate and maintain nuclear medicine imaging equipment while ensuring optimal image quality and patient safety.
  • Follow all AERB, radiation safety, infection control, and hospital compliance standards.
  • Monitor and maintain records of radioactive materials, dose administration, and disposal procedures.
  • Coordinate with nuclear medicine physicians, radiologists, nursing teams, and other departments for seamless patient care.
  • Ensure proper documentation of patient records, scan reports, and procedural details.
  • Support quality assurance activities and equipment calibration processes within the department.
  • Educate patients regarding procedures, precautions, and post-scan instructions to ensure comfort and compliance.

  • Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine imaging procedures and radiation safety
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in imaging and documentation
  • Ability to handle sophisticated imaging equipment and radiopharmaceuticals
  • Good patient handling and communication skills
  • Understanding of AERB and NABH compliance standards
