Job Description:
The Procurement Engineer is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required for engineering and operational needs. This role focuses on ensuring cost-effective procurement, maintaining supplier relationships, verifying technical specifications, and supporting timely project execution while meeting quality and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, and technical requirements.
- Prepare and manage purchase orders, quotations, and procurement documentation.
- Coordinate with engineering and project teams to understand material specifications and requirements.
- Negotiate prices, contracts, and delivery terms with vendors and suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery timelines, and quality compliance.
Required Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial, or related Engineering field.
- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of engineering materials, specifications, and sourcing processes.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualification:
- Experience in procurement for manufacturing, construction, or industrial sectors.
- Understanding of vendor management and supply chain optimization.
- Familiarity with contract management and procurement compliance standards.
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Certification in Supply Chain Management or Procurement (e.g., CIPS or equivalent).
