Job Description
We are seeking a Security Manager for South Avenue Mall, Jabalpur a full-time, on-site role. Candidates with a background in reputed hotels, malls, or commercial complexes are strongly preferred. The role demands strong capabilities in manpower recruitment & screening, training, and security agency coordination.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Security Operations (Mall)
- Plan, direct, and supervise all security functions of South Avenue Mall (parking, common areas, service corridors, tenant spaces, entry/exit points).
- Manage 247 security coverage rosters, shift management, control room, patrolling.
- Maintain and audit security equipment (CCTV, access control, metal detectors, fire alarm panels, boom barriers).
2. Security Manpower Recruitment & Screening
- Lead the recruitment process for in-house security staff and agency-deployed guards.
- Conduct pre-screening interviews, verify antecedents, check previous employment, validate security course certifications.
- Implement psychometric and physical fitness assessments for new hires.
- Maintain a database of screened candidates for rapid replacement.
3. Training Capabilities
- Design and deliver a structured training calendar for security personnel (monthly refreshers, quarterly mock drills).
- Train teams on: firefighting, first aid, bomb threat response, evacuation procedures, crowd management, customer courtesy.
- Maintain training records and certify staff after completion.
- Conduct sensitivity training (handling women & children, disabled persons, VIPs).
4. Security Agency Coordination
- Liaise with outsourced security agency (if applicable) monitor guard attendance, uniform compliance, performance.
- Review agency bills, ensure adherence to SLA and statutory requirements (PF, ESIC, labour laws).
- Conduct periodic agency audits and recommend replacements for non-performing staff.
5. Compliance & Liaison
- Liaise with local police, fire brigade, district administration, and emergency services.
- Ensure compliance with Madhya Pradesh Shop & Establishment Act, fire NOC, and mall-specific by-laws.
- Prepare and submit monthly security reports to mall management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Graduate in any discipline. Diploma in Security Management / Industrial Security / Fire Safety preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years total security experience, with at least 3 years as Security Manager or Deputy Security Manager in one or more of the following:
- Reputed hotel chains (e.g., Taj, Oberoi, Marriott, ITC, Hyatt, Hilton, Leela)
- Large malls / retail complexes (e.g., Select CITYWALK, DLF, Phoenix, Lulu, Inorbit)
- Commercial complexes / corporate parks / SEZs (e.g., IT parks, business districts, special economic zones)
- Certifications: PSP, CPP, or NSDC certification is an added advantage. Fire Officer course highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Proven ability to recruit and screen security manpower (background verification, document checks)
- Hands-on experience in training security teams (prepare modules, conduct drills)
- Strong vendor management coordination with security agencies, contract management
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and security systems
- Excellent communication (Hindi & English), leadership, and crisis management
- Other: Must be willing to work rotational shifts (including nights, weekends, public holidays). Local Jabalpur candidates or those willing to relocate preferred.
