Job Description

Role: Electrical Engineering Intern

Location: Delhi NCR (On-site / Hybrid)
Reports To: Electrical Lead
Duration: Internship (6 months)
Stipend: As per industry standards
Pre-Placement Offer (PPO): Available based on performance, subject to fit and business need

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Electrical / Electronics Engineering intern to join Takachars core electrical team. This is a hands-on, learning-first internship the intern will sit with practising engineers and technicians, build panels alongside them, travel to customer sites, and take progressively deeper ownership of the electrical workflow over six months.

High performers will be considered for a Pre-Placement Offer as a full-time Electrical Engineer at Takachar at the end of the internship, subject to performance and business need. This is the fastest path from classroom to owning real biomass hardware deployed in the field.

Key Responsibilities

Hands-On Electrical Work:

  • Assist engineers and technicians in panel manufacturing, wiring, termination, and testing of electrical and control panels.
  • Participate in PCB assembly, wiring, basic fault identification, and workshop fabrication tasks under supervision.

Electrical Documentation:

  • Maintain and update electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, BOMs, I/O lists, and panel layouts in AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent tools.
  • Keep a clean record of wiring changes, field modifications, test reports, and commissioning notes so every machine has an auditable trail.

Procurement and Vendor Support:

  • Support the electrical procurement process raise requests, track quotations, evaluate component specifications, and maintain the spare-parts inventory.
  • Build familiarity with vendors for sensors, relays, panel components, cables, and electronic parts.

Testing, Commissioning and Field Exposure:

  • Participate in functional testing of control panels and electronic assemblies at the workshop.
  • Travel with the team to customer sites for installation, commissioning, and proactive maintenance visits; help run the site-health checklist.

Learning and Ownership:

  • Read and apply machine schematics, block diagrams, and control logic under the guidance of the Electrical Lead.

Treat every repeated task as a candidate for a standard operating procedure draft SOPs, checklists, and onboarding notes that make the team faster.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Currently pursuing or recently completed B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field from a Tier-1 or Tier-2 institute.

Strong foundational knowledge of electrical principles, analog/digital electronics, components, and circuit theory.

Familiarity with industrial electrical equipment and ability to read basic electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and terminal diagrams.

Working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent CAD tools for electrical drawings (from coursework or projects counts).

Comfort with multi-meter, clamp meter, and standard laboratory instruments.

Strong documentation discipline and attention to detail able to keep logs, BOMs, and drawings tidy.

A proactive, hands-on attitude and willingness to travel across India for customer site visits, installations, and maintenance work.

Preferred (but not mandatory)

Hands-on experience with lab equipment, academic hardware projects, or Formula Student / robotics / Formula Electric teams.

Exposure to microcontrollers (Arduino, STM32, ESP32) or sensor-based systems.

Prior internship or exposure to industrial automation, PLC/HMI programming, or panel wiring.

Basic programming in Python or C++ for data logging and simple scripting.
