Job Description

Job Title: Qlik Data Engineer (Qlik Sense + Qlik Cloud + AWS Glue)

Experience: 3 - 5 years (flexible based on skill fit). Location: Pune (Hybrid/Remote based on project).

Role Summary:

You will build and manage data pipelines and data models for analytics.

You will develop Qlik Sense and Qlik Cloud solutions.

You will integrate data from AWS and other sources.

You will ensure data is correct, secure, and refreshed on time.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Engineering (Core):

Design and develop ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue (PySpark).
Build data ingestion from sources like S3, RDS, Redshift, APIs, files.
Create curated datasets for reporting and dashboards.
Maintain data quality checks and handle data issues quickly.
Optimize Glue jobs for cost and performance.

Qlik Development (Qlik Sense + Qlik Cloud):

Develop Qlik Sense apps and publish in Qlik Cloud.
Build Qlik data models (star schema, snowflake, associative model best practices).
Write and optimize Qlik Load Script.
Create reusable components like variables, master items, measures, dimensions.
Implement Section Access for row-level security.
Setup Qlik Cloud spaces, streams (if applicable), publishing rules, and access control.
Configure and monitor refresh schedules (reload tasks).

AWS + Integration:

Use AWS IAM roles/policies for secure access.
Work with AWS Lambda / Step Functions (good to have) for orchestration.
Use CloudWatch for job logs, monitoring, and alerting.
Support integration with data warehouses like Redshift / Snowflake (if used).

Development, Delivery Support:

Work closely with business and analytics teams to understand requirements.
Provide effort estimates and follow delivery timelines.
Create technical documentation and handover notes.
Support production issues and provide fixes within SLA.

Must-Have Skills:

Strong hands-on in Qlik Sense development.
Strong hands-on in Qlik Cloud setup deployment governance basics
Very good in Qlik Load Script and performance tuning.
Hands-on in AWS Glue (PySpark) and building ETL pipelines.
Good understanding of SQL and data modeling concepts.
Experience with AWS S3 and at least one AWS database (RDS/Redshift/Aurora).

Good-to-Have Skills:

Knowledge of QVD layer design (raw, staged, curated).
Experience with CI/CD for Qlik Git pipelines automation tools
Knowledge of Qlik Application Automation (Qlik Cloud) (optional).
Exposure to Lake Formation, Athena, EMR (optional).
Experience with Python beyond Glue scripts.
Experience in data governance, metadata, lineage (basic understanding is enough).

Tools / Technologies (Expected):

Qlik: Qlik Sense, Qlik Cloud, Qlik Load Script, Section Access
AWS: Glue, S3, CloudWatch (plus Redshift/RDS/Athena as per project)
Data: SQL, Data Modeling, ETL/ELT
Optional: Git, Jira/ADO, Confluence, CI/CD pipelines

Qualification:

BE / BTech / MCA / MSc (or equivalent experience)

Soft Skills:

Strong communication with business and technical teams.
Takes ownership and closes tasks on time.
Good problem solving and debugging mindset.
Comfortable working in agile delivery.
