Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Tests the functionality and performance of medical device software systems Desktop, mobile apps, web apps.
- Develops and executes test plans and scripts designed to detect problems in medical device software systems/applications.
- Create test reports used for regulatory submissions.
- Ensures medical device software systems and software applications meets technical and functional requirements.
- Performs workflow analysis, documents test results and recommends quality improvements.
- Works with development to resolve software defects and diagnose/improve product configuration for current and future models.
- Reviews test automation frameworks, tools, techniques, and methodologies.
- Manages completion of own work assignments and coordinates work with others.
- Identifies and encourages areas for growth and improvement.
- Continues to strengthen industry knowledge and use that knowledge to improve the quality of our products.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related technical field with 8+ years of engineering experience.
- 5+ years of experience in testing Firmware / Embedded Software and Applications (Desktop + Web).
- Strong experience in testing software-controlled hardware devices, embedded systems, or firmware-driven products.
- Hands-on experience with : Firmware functional testing, System integration testing, Application testing across Desktop and Web platforms.
- Experience in manual test case design, execution, and validation for firmware features as well as desktop/web application workflows.
- Strong understanding of hardware-software interaction, system behavior, and integration points
- Experience with test case management software tools.
- Excellent technical documentation skills for formal VV / regulatory submissions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience in the medical device industry or other regulated industries
- Experience with developing and maintaining automated testing systems
- Proficiency in automated testing tools and frameworks
- Hands-on automation scripting experience in Java / Python
- Familiarity with Git, Jenkins CI, and the ability to build/maintain a test pipeline
- Experience with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, or Ethernet
- Experience with hardware-in-loop (HIL), simulation-based testing, or device-level validation environments
- Experience with testing software-controlled hardware devices.
- Experience working in Agile development methodologies.
