Qualification: MD Microbiology/ MBBS
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Infection Control Officer / Microbiologist to oversee infection prevention and control programs, monitor healthcare-associated infections, ensure regulatory compliance, and support patient safety initiatives within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
- Conduct surveillance of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and prepare reports.
- Analyze microbiological data and infection trends.
- Coordinate infection control audits and inspections.
- Provide training and awareness programs for clinical and non-clinical staff.
- Investigate infection outbreaks and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor sterilization, disinfection, and biomedical waste management practices.
- Ensure compliance with NABH, JCI, and other regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with clinicians, nursing teams, and hospital departments to improve infection control practices.
- Maintain infection control documentation and performance metrics.
Requirements
- Experience in Infection Control, Clinical Microbiology, or Hospital Epidemiology.
- Knowledge of NABH/JCI standards and infection surveillance protocols.
- Strong understanding of microbiological testing and laboratory procedures.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills.
- Ability to conduct audits, training sessions, and compliance reviews.
Preferred Skills
- Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) or equivalent.
- Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with antimicrobial stewardship programs.
- Strong data analysis and presentation skills.
