A ServiceNow ITAM Developer is responsible for designing, configuring, and implementing IT Asset Management (ITAM) solutions on the ServiceNow platform, including Software Asset Management (SAM), Hardware Asset Management (HAM), and SaaS Management modules. The role focuses on automating workflows, ensuring compliance, and optimizing asset utilization.
Key Responsibilities Module Implementation & Configuration o Implement and customize SAM Pro, HAM Pro, and SaaS Management modules. o Configure workflows, lifecycle processes, and policies for IT assets. o Develop automation using Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, Business Rules, Client Scripts, and Scoped Apps. Integration & Data Management o Integrate ServiceNow ITAM with CMDB, Discovery, Procurement, and third-party tools (e.g., SCCM, JAMF, Flexera). o Build integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server, and IntegrationHub Spokes for data ingestion. o Ensure data quality, normalization, reconciliation, and license compliance. Optimization & Reporting o Enable SaaS subscription tracking and optimization (usage insights, renewal planning). o Create dashboards and reports for spend, usage, compliance, and optimization. Collaboration & Governance o Work with architects, product owners, and stakeholders to deliver scalable ITAM solutions. o Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and enforce platform governance. o Stay updated with ServiceNow releases and ITAM best practices.
Required Skills & Experience Technical Skills o 46+ years in IT Asset Management with at least 2 full-cycle implementations of ServiceNow SAM/HAM. o Strong knowledge of ITIL and ITAM lifecycle processes. o Hands-on experience with ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript) and platform configuration. o Familiarity with software license models and compliance frameworks. o Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, CMDB, and external asset sources. Soft Skills o Strong communication and stakeholder management. o Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) SAM/HAM. Experience with cloud integrations (AWS, Azure, GCP). Knowledge of SaaS subscription optimization
