Job Opening: Area Operations Manager Telecom
Location: West Bengal (Bengal Circle)
Qualification: B.Tech (Electronics & Communication / Electrical Engineering)
Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Area Operations Manager to oversee telecom network operations across the Bengal circle. The role involves managing site operations, ensuring network uptime, vendor management, and driving operational excellence in line with company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end telecom site operations across assigned cluster/area
- Ensure high network uptime and service availability (2G/3G/4G/5G infrastructure)
- Monitor and optimize O&M (Operations & Maintenance) activities
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors for service delivery
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards
- Handle preventive and corrective maintenance planning
- Drive cost optimization and operational efficiency
- Monitor SLA/KPI performance and ensure adherence
- Manage site readiness, rollout support, and upgrade activities
- Prepare MIS reports, performance dashboards, and operational insights
Required Skills (Telecom-Focused)
Technical Skills
- Telecom Network Operations (Passive + Active Infrastructure)
- BTS / NodeB / eNodeB site management
- Fiber (OFC) network understanding and troubleshooting
- Power systems (DG, Battery banks, Electrical panels)
- RF basics and network performance parameters
- Preventive & corrective maintenance planning
- Understanding of 2G/3G/4G/5G technologies
- Tower infrastructure & site management
- Vendor and field team coordination
Tools & Systems
- Knowledge of OSS/NMS tools
- MS Excel / Reports / MIS preparation
- Ticketing tools & incident management systems
Operational Skills
- SLA & KPI management
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting
- Stakeholder management
- Cost control & efficiency improvement
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Leadership and team handling capability
- Ability to work in field-intensive role
- Decision-making under pressure
Experience
- 38 years of experience in telecom operations / network management
- Experience in tower companies or telecom service providers preferred
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to travel across assigned locations in Bengal
- Strong understanding of field operations and team supervision
