Job Description
Job Title: QA Engineer (Offshore) - AWS Data Pipelines & QuickSight Validation
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled QA Engineer (ETL with Automation) to validate and ensure the quality of modernized AWS-native data pipelines and business intelligence reports as part of a large-scale migration program.
This role will focus on:
- Validating ETL pipelines built using AWS services (Glue, Lambda, RDS, S3, EventBridge)
- Testing and reconciling data migrated from legacy systems (MuleSoft / Oracle)
- Verifying QuickSight dashboards recreated from Tableau
- Ensuring end-to-end data accuracy from ingestion to reporting
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data testing, SQL, AWS services, and BI validation, along with the ability to collaborate with business users and understand reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. QA Strategy & Test Planning
- Develop comprehensive QA strategies, test plans, and test cases for:
- AWS ETL pipelines
- Data migration flows
- QuickSight dashboards
- Define validation rules, business logic checks, and acceptance criteria
- Participate in requirement and design reviews to ensure full test coverage
2. AWS ETL Pipeline Testing
- Validate data pipelines built using:
- AWS Glue (ETL jobs)
- AWS Lambda transformations
- EventBridge-based orchestration
- S3 and RDS (PostgreSQL)
- Verify:
- Data ingestion accuracy
- Transformation logic
- Workflow dependencies and triggers
- Test batch and event-driven pipelines for correctness and resiliency
3. Data Migration Validation
- Perform data reconciliation between source and target systems
- Validate completeness using:
- Row counts
- Checksums
- Sampling techniques
- Business rule validation
- Ensure no data loss during migration and cutover phases
- Identify schema mismatches and data inconsistencies
4. SQL-Based Data Testing
- Write complex SQL queries to validate:
- Data transformations
- Aggregations and joins
- Referential integrity
- Perform deep data profiling and anomaly detection
- Validate business logic embedded in pipelines
