Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Generate accurate OPD, IPD, Emergency, ICU, Pharmacy, and Diagnostic bills.
- Verify patient registration details and service charges before billing.
- Prepare provisional and final discharge bills.
- Process advance payments, refunds, and billing adjustments.
- Collect payments through cash, card, UPI, and online modes.
- Issue receipts and maintain transaction records.
- Handle patient billing queries and explain bill details professionally.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, pharmacy, laboratory, and other departments for accurate billing.
- Verify insurance eligibility and patient documentation.
- Process TPA, insurance, CGHS, and ECHS claims.
- Follow up on claim approvals, rejections, and reimbursements.
- Ensure compliance with hospital billing policies and statutory requirements.
- Maintain billing records and supporting documents for audits.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly billing reports.
- Reconcile collections and hand over cash to the accounts department.
- Monitor outstanding payments and support collection activities.
- Ensure zero revenue leakage by capturing all billable services.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and financial information.
- Assist during internal and external audits.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the management
