A .NET Developer is a software engineer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining applications using the Microsoft .NET framework. They write clean, scalable, and secure codeprimarily in C# or VB.NETto develop web, desktop, and mobile solutions, integrating seamlessly with databases and third-party APIs throughout the software lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Development: Design, code, and test applications from end to end using ASP.NET, C#, and related .NET stack technologies.
- System Integration: Connect applications with backend databases (e.g., SQL Server) and integrate third-party APIs or external web services.
- Code Optimization: Review, refactor, and debug existing code to improve performance, scalability, and security.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with UI/UX designers, project managers, QA testers, and front-end developers to translate business requirements into functional software.
- Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation for system architecture, APIs, and codebase updates to facilitate future development.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Core Languages: Strong proficiency in C#, VB.NET, and modern .NET / .NET Core ecosystems.
- Web Technologies: Deep understanding of ASP.NET MVC, Web API, and front-end essentials like HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Database Management: Proficiency in SQL and experience with ORMs like Entity Framework.
- Cloud & Tools: Familiarity with cloud deployments (e.g., Microsoft Azure) and version control tools like Git.
