Job Description
As a Principal Software Engineer at Infor, you will be a strategic technical leader in the design, architecture, and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing software solutions. You will work across product teams to drive architectural best practices, mentor senior engineers, and influence product direction with a focus on innovation, resilience, and customer value. ]
A Typical Day in the Life Includes:
- Be a technical architect and hands-on contributor for complex, enterprise-scale software systems across multiple product lines.
- Define and promote architectural blueprints, patterns, and standards to improve consistency, quality, and time-to-market.
- Collaborate with product management, UX, DevOps, and customer success teams to align technical direction with business priorities.
- Provide technical mentorship and leadership to cross-functional engineering teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to maintain Infors competitive edge.
- Contribute to strategic planning and roadmap development in collaboration with engineering and executive leadership.
- Lead architectural reviews, performance tuning, and code quality initiatives.
- Ensure solutions are cloud-native, secure, scalable, and adhere to compliance standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
Basic Qualifications:
- Deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and backend service architecture
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures
- Extensive experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native design patterns
- Proficiency in Kubernetes, container orchestration, and deployment automation
- Strong experience with API design (REST/gRPC) and system integration patterns
- Solid understanding of data storage technologies (relational and NoSQL) and data modeling
- Experience with messaging and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka or equivalent)
- Familiarity with enterprise document management and content processing systems
- Knowledge of observability practices including logging, metrics, and distributed tracing
- Exposure to AI/ML applications such as OCR, document classification, and semantic search
- Strong problem-solving, system design, and technical decision-making skills
- Ability to influence architecture and engineering direction across teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Infor CloudSuite, ION, or Mongoose Framework.
- Experience designing data-intensive applications using modern data architectures.
- Open-source projects or published technical articles/conference talks.
