DevOps/ ML Ops Engineer
Overview
The Opportunity We are looking for a talented and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in bridging the gap between development and operations teams, facilitating collaboration, and implementing best practices to streamline software delivery and deployment processes
Key Role & responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software build, test, security and deployment processes, leveraging tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.
Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and debug issues, and provide support and guidance in resolving production incidents and outages.
Implement and manage infrastructure as code solutions using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to automate the provisioning and configuration of cloud resources and environments.
Configure and manage containerization and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes to deploy and scale applications in production environments.
Monitor and optimize the performance, reliability, and scalability of production systems and applications, and implement proactive measures to detect and mitigate potential issues.
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in DevOps, cloud computing, and software development, and share knowledge and expertise with the team.
Infrastructure & Platform Operations
- Manage startup-style infrastructure where multiple databases and tools are hosted on virtual machines for cost efficiency.
- Handle day-to-day operational activities including:backups, restores on demand, patching, troubleshooting
- performance monitoring
- Manage and support hosted systems such as:
ClickHouse
MySQL
PostgreSQL
Kafka
Cross-functional Support
Work closely with developers on-site to support:
- build issues
- deployment issues
- environment issues
- infrastructure requests
- Actively engage with engineering teams for faster issue resolution and smoother delivery cycles.
- Support ML pipeline deployments on EKS and serve them similarly to standard applications.
Preferred candidate profile
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure and core cloud services
- Experience managing Linux-based virtual machines in production
- Good experience with Kubernetes, especially Amazon EKS
- Strong understanding of Helm charts and Argo CD / GitOps deployments
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions
- Experience with monitoring and observability using Grafana, Prometheus, and CloudWatch
- Experience managing backups, restores, and operational support for production systems
- Familiarity with databases and distributed systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Kafka, Milvus, and Redis/Valkey
- Good understanding of IAM, networking, DNS, certificates, CDN, and API integrations
- Strong troubleshooting and incident response skills
- Ability to work closely with developers in an on-site, fast-paced startup environment
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting ML workloads and deployment pipelines
- Basic understanding of Python scripts and how to run/deploy automation or utility scripts
- Exposure to cost optimization in AWS
- Experience working in startup environments with lean infrastructure teams
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Ownership mindset and ability to manage infrastructure independently to work in a startup environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Comfortable with on-site support and frequent interaction with developers
- Able to handle both routine operational work and urgent production issues
- Practical, problem-solving attitude with focus on reliability and delivery
