Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Blackboard LMS Consultant to support our Instructional Design and Technology teams. This role requires deep expertise in Blackboard Learn and the ability to advise teams on how best to utilize Blackboard features to design, develop, and deliver engaging learning experiences.

The consultant will act as the platform expert, helping teams optimize course design, assessments, learner engagement, content deployment, and LMS functionality.

What You'll Do

Provide Blackboard LMS expertise and consultation to project teams

Guide instructional designers on Blackboard capabilities and best practices

Support course setup, configuration, assessments, discussions, and gradebook management

Recommend solutions for learner engagement and content delivery

Assist with LMS integrations, troubleshooting, and technical implementation

Conduct platform training and knowledge-transfer sessions

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Learning Designers, Developers, and Project Managers

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of Blackboard Learn experience
• Strong knowledge of Blackboard Original and/or Ultra
• Experience supporting online learning or instructional design projects
• Familiarity with SCORM, xAPI, and LTI standards
• Excellent communication and consulting skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred:

• Blackboard certifications
• LMS administration experience
• Experience with accessibility standards and eLearning development

Compensation

Competitive hourly rates based on experience.
