Job Description
CORE SKILLS REQUIRED
Data Engineering & Architecture
Design and delivery of enterprise cloud data platforms at scale; end-to-end pipeline ownership
AWS Application Development
Hands-on development with Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS; proficient with AWS SDKs and CLI
Data Modelling
Dimensional modelling, SCD types, semantic layer design
Python / PySpark / SQL
Expert-level hands-on coding for pipeline development, transformation, and application logic
dBT / Talend
Data transformations, models, macros, tests, and CI/CD integration
AWS Data Services
S3, EC2, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, Step Functions production-grade experience
Containerization
Experience building and managing workloads on ECS and/or EKS with Docker
DevOps & Automation
GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Docker, CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy build, test, deploy pipelines
Security & Access Management
IAM policies, roles, and Amazon Cognito for identity and access management
Client Communication
Strong English communication; experience presenting to executive and business stakeholders
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 5 + years of hands-on experience spanning data engineering and AWS application development
- Proven experience operating in production-critical, client-facing environments
- Multi-stack fluency across Python, PySpark, SQL, dBT, and the broader AWS application ecosystem
- DevOps-aware mindset pipelines and applications must be deployable, version-controlled, and repeatable
- Strong understanding of IAM, security best practices, and event-driven architectures
- Excellent communication skills comfortable presenting technical decisions to business leadership
- Experience in a consulting/services delivery environment is strongly preferred
- AWS Certified Developer Associate certification (or equivalent practical experience) is a plus
GOOD TO HAVE
- Experience with Databricks, Apache Airflow, or Kafka
- Familiarity with Talend or other ETL tools
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, SOX)
- Exposure to Azure or GCP in addition to AWS
- GenAI or ML pipeline experience
- Life Sciences domain experience pharma, biotech, or clinical data environments is a plus
