Job Description
Role Overview:
As a Software Tester, you will be responsible for designing and executing test cases, identifying bugs, and working closely with developers and product teams to ensure the software meets defined requirements and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Planning & Design
- Understand software requirements and user stories to design detailed and comprehensive test cases
- Prepare test plans, test data, and test environments for new and existing features
- Collaborate with developers and business analysts to clarify functionality and edge cases
Test Execution
- Perform manual testing for web, mobile, and desktop applications
- Execute functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Report bugs with clear documentation, reproduction steps, and screenshots/logs
Bug Tracking & Reporting
- Use tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or Azure DevOps to log and track defects
- Prioritize and verify fixes and retest resolved issues
- Participate in daily stand-ups and sprint planning meetings to provide QA updates
Automation (Optional or Hybrid Role)
- If applicable, design and execute test scripts using tools like Selenium, Postman, JUnit, or TestNG
- Maintain and enhance automated test suites and CI pipelines
Nice-to-Haves:
- Exposure to test automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Postman, JUnit, etc.)
- Experience with API testing and performance/load testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner)
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Basic knowledge of databases (SQL) and version control (Git)
- QA certifications (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE)
