Role Summary
The Executive E/M Outpatient Coding will be responsible for accurate coding of outpatient Evaluation and Management (E/M) services. The role requires strong knowledge of coding guidelines, documentation requirements, and compliance standards to ensure high accuracy and optimal reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities
E/M Coding (Outpatient)
- Perform coding for outpatient E/M services based on medical documentation.
- Assign appropriate CPT, ICD-10-CM codes following current coding guidelines.
- Ensure accurate leveling of E/M codes based on MDM (Medical Decision Making) or time-based coding.
Chart Review & Documentation
- Review clinical documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Identify documentation gaps and escalate/query when required.
- Ensure compliance with CMS and payer-specific documentation requirements.
Quality & Compliance
- Maintain high coding accuracy and productivity as per SLAs.
- Adhere to AAPC/AHIMA guidelines and 2021+ E/M coding updates.
- Participate in internal quality audits and implement feedback.
Productivity & SLA Management
- Meet daily targets for coding volume and turnaround time.
- Maintain consistent performance in accuracy and efficiency.
