Job Description
Hiring: HVAC Design / Project Engineer
Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Experience: 35+ years of experience in HVAC design (varies by role level)
Reporting to: Project Manager
Job Responsibilities:
An HVAC Design Engineer is responsible for designing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems Pharma and Electrical Industries. The role involves performing heat load calculations, preparing system layouts, and creating detailed technical documentation to ensure efficient and compliant HVAC solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Heat Load Calculation
Perform heating and cooling load calculations using standards like ASHRAE guidelines
Analyze building orientation, insulation, occupancy, lighting, and equipment loads
Perform static pressure calculations, pump head calculations, pipe sizing, and ventilation calculations.
2. HVAC System Design & Layouts
Design HVAC systems (chilled water, VRF, DX, ventilation systems)
Prepare duct layouts, piping layouts, and equipment selection
Work with tools like AutoCAD, Revit MEP, SolidWorks and MacQuay
Ensure proper air distribution, ventilation, and energy efficiency
3. Equipment Selection
Select chillers, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, and ventilation equipment
Coordinate with manufacturers
Ensure equipment meets project requirements and energy standards
4. Documentation & Reporting
Prepare:
Design calculations
Equipment schedules
BOQs (Bill of Quantities)
Technical specifications
Develop drawings: GA drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings
Ensure compliance with local codes and National Building Code of India
5. Coordination & Review
Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and electrical teams
Review drawings and resolve clashes.
Support site teams during installation and commissioning
1.Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of HVAC fundamentals and psychrometrics
Proficiency in load calculation and design software
Understanding of codes and standards (ASHRAE, NBC, SMACNA)
Good drafting and documentation skills
Problem-solving and analytical thinking
2.Core Competencies:
Heat load calculation reports
HVAC layout drawings (ducting & piping)
Equipment selection sheets
BOQ and technical documentation
