Role - Project Manager - Offshore & Heavy Engineering
Location: Pipavav, Gujarat ( India)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager - Offshore & Heavy Engineering to lead EPC and fabrication projects involving Offshore Oil & Gas Platforms, Jackets, Piles, Single Point Mooring (SPM)/Single Buoy Mooring (SBM) systems, Topsides, and Heavy Steel Structures. The candidate must have hands-on experience managing the complete project lifecycle from engineering, procurement, fabrication, load-out, transportation, offshore installation support, commissioning, and project close-out.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end execution of offshore fabrication and heavy engineering projects involving Jackets, Piles, Offshore Platforms, SBM/SPM systems, Topsides, and associated structures.
- Develop and manage project execution plans, schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Production, QA/QC, HSE, Logistics, Marine Operations, and Client representatives to ensure successful project delivery.
- Monitor fabrication progress, construction activities, load-out operations, transportation, and offshore installation readiness.
- Manage project scope, contractual obligations, change orders, claims, and commercial risks.
- Ensure compliance with international offshore standards, client specifications, and statutory regulations.
- Conduct project review meetings, progress reporting, stakeholder management, and client communications.
- Drive HSE excellence and ensure safe execution of fabrication, lifting, transportation, and offshore installation activities.
- Interface with Classification Societies, Inspection Agencies, EPC Contractors, and Offshore Installation Contractors.
- Lead project close-out activities, documentation, lessons learned, and final handover to clients.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Marine, Civil, Structural Engineering, or related discipline.
- Master in any discipline is added advantage.
- PMP Certification will be an added advantage.
- 15+ years of experience in Offshore Oil & Gas, Shipbuilding, Heavy Engineering, or EPC Projects.
- Minimum 5 years in Project Management roles handling offshore fabrication projects.
- Proven experience in execution of:
- Offshore Jackets & Piles
- Wellhead Platforms
- Process Platforms
- SBM/SPM Systems
- Topsides Modules
- Subsea Structures
- Heavy Steel Fabrication Projects
- Experience working with major Offshore EPC Contractors, Oil & Gas Operators, or Shipyards.
- Strong knowledge of offshore construction methodologies, marine operations, load-out, transportation, lifting studies, and installation activities.
- Must have hands on experience in Primavera P6 / MS Project.
