Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Shift Lead to manage SAP systems and applications and to lead a team of 10 to 15 Consultants (L1 & L2), according to the shifts allotted.

Must have experience in SAP Business Suite- Basis , solution manager, ERP and CRM

  • Technically fluent in Operating System (Unix/Windows/Linux), Database (SAP HANA, SAP

ASE, Oracle/DB2/SQL Server/MaxDB) administration

  • Must have exp on
  • Basis production support activities
  • System monitoring, Performance optimization and troubleshooting, transport

administration

  • Client administration
  • System installation, system copies, system refreshes, SAP Support pack application,

Security patches Kernel upgrades

  • Databases patches and Upgrades, SAP Version upgrades SAP solution manager

activities

  • Experience working in multiple support projects
  • Experience on ABAP stack as well as JAVA
  • Experience in SAP HANA Operations, Administration and performance tuning for SAP

applications ERP/BW on HANA, BW4HANA, S4HANA

  • E-2-E analysis, troubleshooting and reporting expertise on SAP application performance

KPIs, memory, CPU, IO bottlenecks

  • Well versed with HANA performance tuning strategies specific to (SAP) Applications and

best practices for table partitions for ABAP based systems

  • SAP System Assessment: Analysis of errors and performance loss in the SAP system, the

database, and the operating system

  • Knowledge/Experience with User Management, System copies, Unicode Conversions

Mandatory Execution Skills (to handle critical tasks)

  • Must have handled a team of 15 to 20 L1 & L2 consultants
  • The lead will be responsible for developing efficient work methods, and collaborating with

junior consultants to increase productivity

  • Understanding on the ITIL framework
  • Knowledge on Incident Management and Change Management is must.
  • Creating and regularly maintaining the weekly and monthly shift roasters for ongoing

projects

  • Manage change management processes within SAP Landscape and SAP Infrastructure

according to agreed procedures

  • Ability to work on activities involved in Planning areas (Sizing, Scoping, Client/Landscape

Strategy, High Availability/Disaster Recovery Strategy etc.) of Implementation projects

without much supervision at transaction level

  • Provide training and direction to other operational support teams.
  • Maintain documentation on system configurations, maintenance processes and schedules.
  • Monitor performance as it relates to SAP infrastructure and enterprise architecture

components, applications and databases.

  • Perform release and patch activities and participate in overall upgrade improvements to

systems and hardware.

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements within SAP Systems

Infrastructure and Architecture.

  • Participate in providing 24x7 support on rotational basis to ensure operations of these

critical systems for different customers.

  • Support IT audit activities, analyze results and provide remediation which results in

improved compliance to standards and controls for all internal and external regulatory

requirements.

Desired Experience

  • 6 to 8 years relevant experience working as a SAP basis lead in medium / large firm
  • Good communication skills, ability to interact with global customer POC and able to

articulate himself/herself

  • Team player, good attitude to work with fellow workers
  • Should have knowledge on project management basics and agile methodology
  • Self-starter, with learning attitude
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently with minimum supervision.

  • Capable of working flexible hours under aggressive deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate with other team members working from other locations.
  • Proficient understanding of SAP technologies and applications.
  • Self-starter with ability to acquire new skills in self learning mode
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal, leadership, and teambuilding skills with the ability to interact effectively within all levels across the organization.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, communicate task status clearly and meet deadlines

with minimal supervision.

  • Graduate in Engineering / Computer science / Information systems
