Job Description
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced UFT Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in QTP/UFT, VB Scripting, and Database Testing to join our team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in designing, developing, executing, and maintaining automation frameworks and regression suites in an Agile environment.
Candidates with experience in Investment Banking or Financial Services will have an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business and functional requirements for automation testing.
- Design, develop, and maintain UFT/QTP automation scripts using VB Scripting.
- Execute automation regression test cycles and report defects.
- Identify and automate suitable test scenarios and processes.
- Develop and enhance automation frameworks (Keyword, Data-Driven, Hybrid).
- Maintain and optimize regression test packs for efficient execution.
- Perform peer reviews of automation scripts and test execution results.
- Drive root cause analysis for defects and quality KPI breaches.
- Prepare and share daily, weekly, and monthly automation status reports.
- Participate in test planning, execution, and test closure activities.
- Demonstrate automated solutions to application and business teams.
- Create and maintain automation architecture documentation and user guides.
- Collaborate effectively within Agile/DevOps teams.
Must-Have Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in QTP/UFT Automation Testing.
- Strong expertise in VB Scripting.
- Experience in automation framework development (Keyword, Data-Driven, Hybrid Frameworks).
- Good knowledge of UFT Object Repository management.
- Strong experience in Database Testing (Oracle/SQL Server/Sybase) and writing SQL queries.
- Experience with ALM, JIRA, and Bitbucket.
- Ability to estimate automation effort and plan testing activities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage end-to-end testing assignments.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and Agile/DevOps practices.
- Manual testing experience.
- Experience in Investment Banking or Financial Services domain.
- Knowledge of test automation best practices and documentation standards.
